Description

There should be a way to edit the first element of breadcrumb. It would be great if admins could configure it themselves in admin panel.

EX:
The script can be installed in a subdirectory and the first item can go to the site root address.

This problem is not actual anymore. In 2.2.x you can easily change breadcrumb.tpl file and add all necessary elements before your script breadcrumb items chain.

breadcrumb.tpl:

<ul>
    <li><i class="icon-home"></i></li>
    <li typeof="v:Breadcrumb">
        <a href="/" rel="v:url" property="v:title">Home</a>
        <span class="divider"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i></span>
    </li>
    {foreach from=$breadcrumb item=item name=bc}
        {if $item.url && !$smarty.foreach.bc.last}
            <li typeof="v:Breadcrumb">
                <a href="{$item.url}"{if isset($item.no_follow) && $item.no_follow} rel="nofollow"{/if} rel="v:url" property="v:title">{$item.caption}</a>
                <span class="divider"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i></span>
            </li>
        {else}
            <li class="active">{$item.caption}</li>
        {/if}
    {/foreach}
</ul>
